Mercy, starring Chris Pratt, who plays a detective who is on trial for the murder of his wife. But this is the future, where Pratt is strapped into a chair that will inject him with lethal drugs in x number of minutes if he is proven to be guilty.
The electronic judge gives him the leeway to investigate his own case, allowing him to review all the evidence of the case, and then interacting with the ongoing investigation.
The journey of the film is one heck of a high-energy ride, keeping the viewer fairly well engaged right up until the end. And not to toss out spoilers, but it was a satisfyingly predictable ending.
It's amazing how Pratt can carry the film from a chair, but he does. If you like Pratt, Chris Sullivan, a stoic Rebecca Ferguson, then I think you'll enjoy this film.
